The City of Vancouver is recruiting for an Airport Operations Coordinator to oversee and ensure the seamless day-to-day operation of Pearson Field Airport. Reporting to the Airport Manager, the role involves coordinating maintenance and security of airport equipment and facilities, assisting in general oversight of airport operations including emergency response, and facilitating development at the airport. Responsibilities include maintaining compliance with FAA, OSHA, City and other regulatory agencies, managing airport grants and budgets, negotiating hangar rental agreements, responding to operational challenges and emergencies, performing construction, maintenance and repair work on airport infrastructure, conducting daily inspections of safety and operational areas, maintaining and repairing airfield lighting and equipment, record keeping and financial reporting, routine maintenance such as landscaping and snowplowing, managing airport safety and compliance inspections, organizing Airport Advisory Committee meetings, collaborating with local authorities and stakeholders, monitoring airport grounds and facilities, and supporting airport projects. The position requires two years of experience in facilities management, economic development, construction or maintenance, and a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Airport Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Economic Development or related field. Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office and a valid Washington Driver’s License are required. Membership in the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) is preferred. The role demands excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as a team player, commitment to safety, diversity, equity and inclusion, and compliance with safety and health policies. The position is full-time, regular, non-exempt, non-union, and subject to pre-employment reference and background checks.
