Pay: $95K-$120K
Job Summary: Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of proven experience to join their dynamic Orlando office. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and driven attorney with a strong foundation in commercial litigation, including significant experience in Construction Law and a demonstrated ability to independently manage hearings and depositions . The successful candidate will play a key role in building our increasingly busy Commercial Litigation practice and will be expected to handle a high volume of complex matters. This is an onsite position with the potential for a hybrid work arrangement after a period of demonstrated success.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Independently manage and diligently progress commercial litigation cases from inception through resolution, including trial or settlement.
Develop comprehensive case strategies, conduct thorough legal research and analysis, and prepare well-reasoned legal correspondence.
Represent clients effectively in various legal proceedings, including hearings, trials, arbitrations, and mediations.
Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing electronic discovery (e-discovery) tools and managing document review processes.
Draft and prepare sophisticated legal documents with minimal supervision, including pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests and responses, and settlement agreements.
Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis to provide accurate and strategic advice and guidance to clients on complex legal issues.
Develop a comprehensive understanding of client business objectives and legal needs.
Negotiate settlements and other resolutions on behalf of clients effectively and strategically.
Maintain meticulous and up-to-date case files, documentation, and billing records in compliance with firm policies.
Communicate complex legal terminology clearly and concisely to clients in a timely manner.
Proactively identify and analyze unique legal issues by researching applicable statutes, case law, and regulations.
Develop creative and effective solutions to complex legal questions.
Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously, ensuring timely completion of tasks and adherence to court rules and firm deadlines.
Collaborate effectively with colleagues to share knowledge, resolve client issues, and contribute to a supportive team environment.
Communicate regularly and proactively with clients regarding procedural updates, case progress, and strategic decisions.
Supervise and mentor paralegal staff and legal assistants in record-keeping, document preparation, and other case-related tasks, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Adhere to all policies and procedures.
Maintain strict client confidentiality and exercise sound independent judgment in all aspects of case management.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND EDUCATION:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
Active member in good standing of the Florida Bar.
A minimum of 3-5 years of post-JD experience as a Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney in a reputable law firm.
Demonstrable experience in handling all phases of commercial litigation, including discovery, motion practice, hearings, and depositions.
Significant and demonstrable experience in Construction Law, including but not limited to contract disputes, lien law, and construction defect litigation.
Strong knowledge of Florida state laws, rules of civil procedure, and evidence.
Familiarity with working with diverse clients, including large corporations, and providing effective client consultations.
Proven ability to conduct thorough legal research using various legal databases (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex legal and factual issues.
Excellent negotiation and client interaction skills, with a proven track record of achieving favorable outcomes for clients.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage a high-volume practice efficiently.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft clear, concise, and persuasive legal documents and present arguments effectively.
Strong interpersonal skills with a professional demeanor, empathy, and a commitment to providing excellent client service.
Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and remain calm and focused under pressure in sensitive situations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Excellent proofreading skills and meticulous attention to grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
Experience with legal case management software such as Filevine and client intake systems like Lead Docket.
Fluency in Spanish (spoken and written) is a plus.
Experience in additional areas of commercial litigation, including Business Law, Appeals, Civil Litigation, and Real Estate Litigation
