The Public Health Sciences Department at the University of Miami has an exciting opportunity for a Research Assistant 3. The Research Assistant 3 explores innovations to research and strives to improve implementation and family outcomes. The Research Assistant 3 (A) ensures compliance with University policies, rules, and regulations to meet federal, state, and local standards pertaining to safety and ethics. Core job functions include planning and implementing research experiments according to research protocols to assure high-quality scientific results in support of applicable project goals; participating in assessing the feasibility of implementing innovations; assessing data trends and developing reports and presentations; supporting the initiation of new research by reviewing and synthesizing literature; overseeing inventory of supplies and equipment and placing orders in a timely fashion; assisting in the preparation of scientific papers, reports, and manuscripts; adhering to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguarding University assets. The person will be responsible for finding study participants in the community, using locator information including information of local places the participant is known to frequent. Upon finding, assessments may be done in the field. Minimum 3 years of relevant experience is required. Skills needed include collecting, organizing, and analyzing data, ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems, and ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
