Here at CGS, we offer an environment in which our employees feel supported, and we encourage professional growth through various learning opportunities.Skills and attributes for success:Ability to maintain inventory records that include, but are not limited to, owner, software name, license information, and period of performance in coordination with Configuration Management practicesAbility to ensure that software is identified, controlled, and properly cared for throughout its lifecycleAbility to avoid unnecessary asset purchases by promoting software functionality analysis/ comparisons to avoid duplicative softwareAbility to avoid over-deployment of softwareAbility to ensure software is accepted and licensedAbility to properly plan for the renewal of software licenses in support of the Program's Configuration Management practicesAbility to apply a continuous improvement approach in enhancing the strategies employed in technology spending, as well as in tracking assets within the Configuration ManagementDatabase (CMDB) throughout their cycleAbility to support the management of the CMDB and that the content contained is accurateAbility to support the configuration management practices of identifying hardware and software-related assets as well as CIs, including versioning and dependencies in the asset management tools, attributes, the Contract management library, and the CMBDAbility to manage inventory of CIs and assets, including dependencies and attributes, making sure that modifications, withdrawals, and additions of existing ones are correctly recorded by the teams in charge in the tools to ensure that the vendor contracts are complied withAbility to support the lifecycle management of hardware and software until their retirementAbility to generate and distribute various reports, including compliance reports on current assets and GIs and their statusAbility to perform verification and audit CMDB contentAbility to verify software assets with license contracts, confirm hardware assets with actual inventory, and initiate corrective actions and track themAbility to manage activities concerning license compliance audits to be able to answer requests from software editors effectivelyAbility to ensure process efficiency by implementing the key performance indicators; suggest improvements to the process continuouslyAbility to design processes relating to software and hardware asset management, execute, and enhance themAbility to establish and maintain documentation of procedures, processes, and reports concerning asset and configuration managementAbility to take part in other ITSM processes, or as required perform as a backup to maintain operational activitiesAbility to create and execute governance and strategic asset management functionsAbility to perform research on industry best practices and incorporate it with organizational practicesQualifications:Bachelor's degree or 8 years of work or equivalent experienceHave a firm understanding and practice experience with ITIL and configuration. management best practicesHave a firm understanding and practice experience with managing and maintaining a software library to include SLAs and warrantiesBe comfortable and have experience working with various software vendors and vendor licensing modelsIdeally, you will also have:Project Management experience or support experienceOur Commitment:Contact Government Services (CGS) strives to simplify and enhance government bureaucracy through the optimization of human, technical, and financial resources.
