Job Description

The CT Technologist is responsible for providing diagnostic imaging by confirming patient identity and exam verification prior to initiating scans. This role maintains a focus on patient safety and effective communication with physicians.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with physicians to provide diagnostic imaging.


• Prepare patients for scans and explain procedures to alleviate discomfort.


• Insert IVs when necessary for tests.


• Position patients accordingly, utilizing safe patient handling techniques.


• Document all necessary components within EPIC to maintain accurate patient record keeping.


• Ensure images are sent to the PACS system correctly upon exam completion.


• Maintain a clean and safe scanning facility.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology.


• Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).


• NYS licensure (must obtain prior to starting position).


• Two years of experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center.


• BLS certification (American Heart Association ONLY).


• Injection certification preferred—must be willing to complete during orientation process.


• Experience with Siemens scanning equipment preferred.


• Epic experience is highly desired.
